(US)  United Artists/MGM, cirected by Randall Wallace (Braveheart, Pearl harbor)

Cast:
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Gabriel Byrne, Gérard Depardieu

Plot:
(from imdb.com) In 1638 Queen Anne of France gives Birth to a boy who is destined to inherit the throne. Only a few are aware that a twin brother was also born. Twenty-two years later, King Louis XIV rules the country of France.  Due to his extravagance and indifference to the suffering of his people, he's an unpopular king.  The legendary Musketeers had served his father Louis XIII faithfully, but only one is still on the king's side: D'Artagnan (Byrne), the Captain of the king's guards. His three companions Aramis (Irons), Athos (Malkovich) and Porthos (Depardieu) have retired into civil life. One day during a royal party, the young king gets a crush on Christine. This lady is the fiancé of soldier Raoul, the son of Athos.  The king has Raoul sent to the front where Raoul dies in combat.  Athos, Aramis and Porthos think of a plan to take revenge on the king. Aramis points out that there is a man in an iron mask in a very secure prison, and that this man's very existence is the king's worst nightmare.  They hatch a plan to free the man -- the king's hidden twin brother -- and replace the current Louis XIV with . . . The Man in the Iron Mask.
