(France) Directed by Claude de Givray
Cast: Gérard Depardieu, Jeanne Moreau, Catherine Deneuve, and a host of other European stars
Plot: This film is a documentary on, and homage to, the life and work of famous French New Wave director François Truffaut. The film was presented at Cannes in 1985.
Trivia: As a tribute to Truffaut, Spielburg gave him the lead role of the French scientist Claude Lacombe in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Truffaut directed Depardieu in The Last Metro, The Woman Next Door. He also directed the American Sci-Fi classic Fahrenheit 451. Depardieu was very close to Truffaut and was deeply affected by his death.
